How to Fight a Breeze
- Close the distance. Breezes deflect arrows and tridents, so a sword, axe or Mace is the right tool.
- Carry a shield. It blocks Wind Charges, so the knockback doesn't throw you around.
- Watch your footing. The Wind Charge itself barely hurts; the danger is getting knocked off a ledge or into another mob. Don't fight on pillars.
- Pin it down. A Breeze can leap up to 15 blocks sideways and 5 up. In a 2-block-tall space it can't jump away.
- Use what still works at range: splash potions and firework rocket explosions still damage Breezes.
Breeze Rods
Breezes are the only source of Breeze Rods. Use them to:
- Craft Wind Charges: 1 Breeze Rod = 4 Wind Charges
- Craft the Mace: a Heavy Core on top of a Breeze Rod
- Repair a Mace in an anvil: each Breeze Rod restores 25% of its durability
Looting raises the rod drop: 2–4 with Looting I, up to 4–8 with Looting III.
Wind Charges
The Wind Charges a Breeze shoots are the same item players can craft and throw. A burst knocks back nearby entities, flips wooden doors, trapdoors, fence gates and levers, presses buttons and rings bells. Common Questions
Can Breezes spawn outside Trial Chambers?
Not naturally. They only come from Trial Spawners, which only generate in Trial Chambers.
Can a Breeze be tamed?
No.
Do Breezes drop Wind Charges?
No. They drop Breeze Rods, and one rod crafts into four Wind Charges.
Why do my arrows bounce off?
Breezes deflect almost every projectile, and a deflected arrow keeps its speed, so it can come back and hit you. Switch to melee.
